Who makes it
Garages, classrooms, online shops and production studios across the US run xTool machines. The line starts with the 10 lb F2 you can carry to a craft fair, moves through the enclosed S1 that schools favor, and tops out with the 80W P3. MetalFab and the Apparel Printer take the brand into welding and t-shirt printing.

Three steps
Drop a board or sheet in and shut the lid. On the P3, cameras photograph the bed so your artwork lands exactly where you place it on screen. The S1 aims with a pin-point laser dot instead. Either way, the machine measures the height itself.
Pick the material in xTool Studio, xTool's free software for Windows and macOS, and it fills in power and speed, or set them yourself. The same beam engraves at low power and cuts at high power.
Fumes leave through an exhaust hose to a window, or through a SafetyPro filter in rooms with none, which is how most classrooms run. For batches, a conveyor feeder keeps pulling fresh material through.

Beyond lasers
Welds and cuts steel, stainless and aluminum in a garage or school shop. Check your power before you order: the welders run on 200 to 240 V, the 1200W model needs 21 A or more, and xTool recommends its own 220 V, 25 A or higher circuit. The CNC cutter works only with a MetalFab welder.

A DTF printer: it prints your design onto transfer film that you heat-press onto fabric. xTool lists all fabrics, including cotton, polyester, denim, canvas, spandex and nylon. It runs on standard household power, so a t-shirt business can start at a desk.

Teachers usually land on the S1. Everything happens behind a closed lid, it runs on a standard outlet, and there is a 20W or 40W version. The All-in-One SafetyPro bundle brings the filter for rooms with no window, plus a rotary, riser and conveyor.

New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Washington, Oregon, California and Indiana. Machines and most accessories are priced by weight at checkout, from $30 for a small accessory and from $150 for a machine depending on the state. Software and xToolcare plans ship for a $25 flat rate, and free from $500.

Yes. xTool lists stainless steel, plated metal and painted metal among the S1's engraving materials. For deep engraving or color on metal, the F2 Ultra's fiber laser is the better fit.
No. The P3's 80W CO2 laser cuts wood, acrylic, fabric and leather. With the optional IR module it engraves metal, but it does not cut it.
No. xTool says the F2 Ultra is no longer compatible with LightBurn, and the F2 does not support it at this time. Both run xTool Studio, which is free.
The MetalFab welders run on 200 to 240 V. The 1200W model needs 21 A or more, and xTool recommends a separate 220 V circuit of 25 A or higher. The CNC cutter runs only with a MetalFab welder.

Yes. We accept purchase orders from schools and districts. Contact us and we will quote against your PO process.
It depends on your state and the total. A formal bid is required for purchases over: New York $20,000, New Jersey $39,000 ($53,000 with a qualified purchasing agent), Pennsylvania $24,500 (with quotes from $13,200), Washington $75,000, Oregon $250,000, California $119,100 and Indiana $150,000. Your district can set lower limits.
New York: a governmental purchase order. New Jersey: an official purchase order or letterhead. Pennsylvania: form REV-1220. Oregon and New Hampshire have no sales tax, and we do not collect sales tax on orders shipped to Indiana.
Neither state generally exempts schools from sales tax, so it is added to school orders there.
Perkins V can pay for equipment that students use in a career and technical education program. Whether a particular purchase qualifies is decided by your district and your state plan.
